Life on the wild... or not-so-wild side of Ireland

I admit it... I love animals and I love photographing them. So if you can bear with that penchant, scroll on!

Looking for delicacies in Galway Harbor... This one is a member of reportedly one of the largest swan colonies in Ireland.

Look closely.. very closely... That's not a log - that's a seal! There's also a blue heron. (We had to respect the preserve limits.)

Lunch time!!

Sheep... rock.... sheep... rock.... I'm losing track. Though it's arguable there are more sheep than people in some areas!

Really my dears, don't look so startled - if you are going to live near the Cliffs of Moher, you can't expect private dining.

What in the world?? We looked at them at thought, those aren't sheep! The alpacas crowded up to the bus and clearly were thinking, "That's not a tractor!"

Proof that you cannot get a tan in Ireland. Especially on Ailwee Mountain.

Retrievers on vacation! These two were lounging around the beach, quite alone, apparently after a lively dip. They perked right up when we came to the waterfront to photograph the coast, hoping for some more fun no doubt.

Even cormerants know you should enjoy every moment of sun in Galway!

Waiting for the bus in Knock... or maybe just the friendly hands of the bus-riding pilgrims.
